He has over 15 years of experience as a design engineer/project manager in a variety of industrial, municipal and private projects including construction and structural design. Steve is registered as a Professional Engineer in the States of Missouri and Kansas and a Structural Engineer in Illinois and Utah, which requires credentials above and beyond a typical PE license.
Steve has significant experience in the areas of structural design, project management, construction administration, inspection and evaluation for a variety of projects including Wal-Mart, Staples, multiplex cinemas, and high profile projects such as the large crown above the Kansas City Royals scoreboard and the 3-story Boulevard Brewery in Kansas City. He specializes in structural design including: industrial facilities and commercial buildings, structural retrofits of industrial, commercial, residential, retail and correctional facilities and investigations of residential and commercial collapse and other structural deficiencies. In 2011 he was deployed to Joplin with a group of structural volunteers to perform rapid structural assessments of buildings affected by a devastating EF-5 tornado. He has performed structural engineering on building projects at the University of Missouri in Columbia as well as at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Steve has experience working with a wide-range of clients from large metropolitan cities to local municipalities to public infrastructure and industrial facilities.
Steve was raised in St. James, Missouri. In 2012, he and his family made the decision to return to the Rolla area to raise a family. Steve and his wife Brenda stay busy with their three young sons, Snyder, Hudson, and Henry. As a family they enjoy listening to “Red Dirt” country music and visiting friends and family in Kansas and Kansas City with what little free time they have. Brenda was raised in Kansas and does her best to “brainwash” their three boys into becoming Kansas State Wildcat fans.
