Joshua Kendle

Josh KendleJosh graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 2007, and maintains Architect Registrations in Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Prior to working with Archer-Elgin, Josh completed work in Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Ohio, and Colorado.

Josh is the Lead Architect at Archer-Elgin. He’s involved in nearly every aspect of architectural design projects from preliminary design through construction administration. Josh has over 11 years of experience to draw from including projects ranging from commercial and healthcare to municipal, residential, and educational markets. Being the Lead Architect requires Josh to have a variety of expertise including the ability to work in a team, good communication skills, knowledge of the different aspects of construction, and the capacity to assume a leadership role.

As Lead Architect, Josh is responsible for overseeing the development of the design, and the production of the construction drawings and specifications. His role also involves coordinating the needs of the client, technical staff, and outside consultants such as Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineers. Additionally, Josh performs certain managerial tasks related to the project in support of the Project Team. His other responsibilities range from zoning and building code interpretation, material specifications, and maintaining quality control by checking, and making revisions to shop drawings.

Living and working in different states has given Josh a great appreciation for the outdoors. He and his wife Jessica Cundiff, an Assistant Professor of Psychological Science at Missouri S&T, love spending time outdoors running, biking, playing tennis, and enjoy traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures. They recently welcomed their first child into the family, Austin.
